Donation of sanitary supplies and toiletries to remote Indigenous women

toiletriesEarlier this year we sent a package of sanitary items and toiletries, through our friend Jacqui, to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women’s health clinics in remote Northern Territory.  Jacqui is an obstetrician/gynaecologist and conducts specialist women’s health clinics in NE Arnhem land through the specialist outreach program.  Toiletries in these communities are often too expensive for women to purchase.  We look forward to working with Jacqui this year to develop and supply a pregnancy pack for women who attend the maternal care clinic.

The picture above shows a gift pack containing our supplies, prepared by the Strong Women, Strong Baby, Strong Culture workers. These workers provide health education to community women and while women were waiting for their clinic appointment discussed health conditions and handed out the gift packs.
